U16 Teams come back from Minsk
|
|
Ukrainian U16 selections returned from Belarus. They took part at the XIII International Tournament held in Minsk.
Ukrainian men U16 team triumphed at the competition claiming three wins in as many games played. They first defeated hosting Belarus 85:75. Later Ukraine handled Moldova 86:35 and finally our team cruised past Estonia 77:39.
Women’s selection on the other hand had little to boast about. They lost all of their three outings occupying the last spot in the tourney. |

Ukraine record first win in Tallinn

Ukrainian U16 National Team registered their first win at the European Championship in Division B. They narrowly defeated Luxembourg 51:49 on the final day of the tournament avenging of the loss at the earlier stages of the competition. The victory allowed Ukraine to clinch 15th overall position.

Ukraine unable to snap losing skid in Tallinn

Ukrainian U16 team lost the sixth straight game at the European Championship in Division B. They lost their clash against Israel 63:71 to set up the clash versus Luxembourg for the 15th-16th overall position at the tournament.
Oleksandra Chek came up with 21 points and 12 boards but could not rescue the team. Miriam Uro-Nile added 18 points and 14 rebounds in the losing effort. |

One more loss for Ukrainian U16 team in Tallinn

Ukrainian U16 selection dropped the fifth straight game in Tallinn. They were defeated by Luxembourg in Group H to occupy the fourth position. Ukraine will now face Israel in the classification games for the 13th-16th spots.
Nataliya Pokrovenko knocked down 19 points to lead Ukraine in a 50:61 loss. Our team led by 6 points heading into the fourth frame. However Lena Hetto exploded with 21 points for Luxembourg in the fourth term to sink Ukraine ... »»

Ukraine lose fourth in a row in Tallinn

Ukrainian U16 team opened the classification games at the European championship in Division B with defeat. They were beaten by Slovenia 53:68 despite 14 points and 14 boards from Oleksandra Chek. Nataliya Pokrovenko provided 10 points in the loss.
Ukraine lost the first half by 15 points and never recovered in the second part of the clash. Our team will face Luxembourg today.

Ukraine lose third in a row in Tallinn

|
Ukrainian U16 team suffered the third straight loss at the European Championship in Division B. They were beaten by Portugal 52:65 to occupy the fourth position in Group D.
Kateryna Demchenko paced Ukraine with 17 points. Oleksandra Chek added 12 points and 15 rebounds in the loss.
Ukraine will next face Slovenia in the classification games for the 9th-16th place. |

Second straight loss in Tallinn

Ukrainian U16 National women’s team suffered the second consecutive defeat at the European Championship in Estonia. They were severely beaten by Netherlands 49:89 in the second round of action in Group D.
Kateryna Demchenko finished with 14 points to lead Ukraine. Iryna Krasova added 13 points, while Miriam Uro-Nile had 11 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks in defeat.

Ukraine to slow start in Tallinn

Ukrainian U16 selection opened the European Championship in Division B with a loud defeat to England 41:68. England cleared off to a 29-point advantage at halftime and did not look back in the second half.
Kateryna Demchenko came up with team-high 13 points for Ukraine. Oleksandra Chek added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.
Ukraine will next face Netherlands on Saturday. |
