Ukraine gained a crucial road win in the quest to remain in the EuroBasket Division A for the next year. Our team survived overtime to post a 75:72 victory that propelled them to 3-2 record in the Relegation Round. Ukraine will now face Czech Republic in Kyiv to decide on their fate.

Oleksiy Pecherov stepped up with another sizzling performance scoring 29 points and collecting 17 rebounds. Oleksandr Kolchenko netted 14 points in the victory.

Ukraine celebrated a vital win over Estonia in the 2009 EuroBasket Relegation Round tonight. They held off Estonia 71:64 in Kyiv to improve at 1-1 record in Group C.

Ukraine suffered the first defeat in the 2009 EuroBasket Relegation Round. They fell short against Hungary 67:91 in Szombathely.

The visitors trailed by just three points at halftime but could keep up the pace in the second half. Hungary stepped on the gas and raced to a comfortable 24-point victory at the end.

Olexiy Pecherov knocked down 15 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as Ukraine swept the exhibition series against Slovakia. The second game turned out victorious 93:59.

Dmytro Glebov came up with 14 points, while Kyrylo Fesenko delivered 11 points and 11 rebounds in the winning effort.

Ukraine will now travel to Hungary for the first game in the EuroBasket relegation round. The game is scheduled for August 5.

Ukrainian National Team played the first exhibition game against Slovakia. The teams met today in Kyiv and the hosts celebrated a confident 95:72 victory.

Sergiy Gladyr top-scored with 24 points for Ukraine. Olexiy Pecherov added 12 points and 7 boards, while Oleksandr Kolchenko contributed 10 points for the winners.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at 17.00 in Meridian.

Ukrainian World University selection finished at the 11th spot in Belgrade. They completed their Belgrade journey with a narrow 79:76 win over Latvia.

Ukraine trailed by 9 points at halftime but bounced back in the second half to defy Latvia. Maksym Pustozvonov netted 20 points as Ukraine stole a hard-fought win at the end. Oleksander Sizov contributed 15 points, while Vyacheslav Kravtsov had 13 points and 7 boards for the winners.  

Ukraine suffered another defeat at the World University Games as they were unable to handle Finland. Dmytro Glebov knocked down 22 points to lead Ukraine but his effort was not enough in a 62:67 loss.

Sergiy Popov finished the game with 12 points, 5 assists and 4 boards. Maxym Korniyenko tallied 11 points and 13 boards in defeat.

Ukraine will face Latvia for the 11th-12th overall position on Saturday.  

Ukrainian World University Games selection completed the second stage of the tournament in Serbia. Ukraine lost against Turkey and defeated Portugal to occupy the third position in Group L. Our team will next face Finland in the classification games for 9th-12th spot.

Ukraine opened their campaign with a comfortable 104:74 victory over Japan. Maxym Kornienko unloaded 33 points to pace the victors. Oleksandr Sizov added 22 points in the win.

Ukraine opened the action against the hosts yesterday. Unfortunately our team suffered a 72:85 loss. Ukraine trailed by just one point after the starting period but lost the next two quarters by 21 points. The visitors were not able to overcome the deficit in the fourth period and lost the clash.
