Ukraine failed to post a single victory at the EuroBasket 2009. They came up short against Czech Republic today and wrapped up their campaign at the fourth spot in the preliminary Group A.
Ukraine had their backs against the wall entering today’s clash. They grabbed the lead early and maintained it throughout the major part of the encounter. But some unforced errors late in regulation sank the team as they lost the vital battle 77:79.
Olena Ogorodnikova finished with 26 points and 5 rebounds for Ukraine. Olexandra Gorbunova produced 21 points, while Iryna Biryuk tallied 14 points, 6 assists and 5 boards in the loss.
