Ukraine come up short against German A2 team

The Ukrainian Universiade selection traveled to Germany to participate at the Nations Cup international tournament.
Ukraine opened the action against the hosts yesterday. Unfortunately our team suffered a 72:85 loss. Ukraine trailed by just one point after the starting period but lost the next two quarters by 21 points. The visitors were not able to overcome the deficit in the fourth period and lost the clash.
Dmytro Glebov knocked down 18 points to pace Ukraine. Andriy Agafonov had 11 points in the loss.

Ukraine post two victories over Israel

The Ukrainian U20 National Team played two friendly encounters with Israeli opponents. Both games went in favor of Ukraine.
The first clash saw Ukraine claim a narrow 81:78 victory. Olexiy Chygrynov topscored for the hosts with 19 points. Stanislav Tymofeyenko added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners.

Czech Republic send Ukraine packing

Ukraine failed to post a single victory at the EuroBasket 2009. They came up short against Czech Republic today and wrapped up their campaign at the fourth spot in the preliminary Group A.
Ukraine had their backs against the wall entering today’s clash. They grabbed the lead early and maintained it throughout the major part of the encounter. But some unforced errors late in regulation sank the team as they lost the vital battle 7 ... »»

Ukraine unable to match Spain

Ukraine suffered the second straight defeat at the 2009 EuroBasket in Latvia. Earlier today they lost to Spain 59:85 slipping at 0-2 record in Group A.
Ukraine lost the starting frame by just two points but could not threaten their opponents in the second period. Spaniards eased to a 13-point lead at halftime and never looked back en route to the second consecutive victory at the tournament.

Ukraine lose in EuroBasket opener

Ukraine opened their EuroBasket 2009 campaign with a bitter loss to Slovak Republic in preliminary Group A. The teams clashed in Liepaja today and Ukraine suffered a 55:77 defeat.
Ukraine failed to match Slovakia in the first half losing it by 26 points. Our team gained the tempo after the big break but it was too late to save the encounter.

BC Khimik clinch third spot in Superleague

BC Khimik earned Superleague bronze medals after they beat BC Kyiv 91:73 in the fourth game of the consolation final series. Olu Famutimi came up with 20 points to propel Khimik to a comfortable victory. Olexandr Kolchenko added 17 points going 3/4 from beyond the arc.
Khimik built a 25-point lead at the interval and never looked back en route to the win. Manuchar Markoishvili posted 19 points and 7 assists for BC Kyiv. Maksym Pustozvo ... »»

Azovmash earn Superleague crown again

Azovmash defended their Superleague title sweeping the series against BC Donetsk. The Mariupol team grabbed a 90:78 road win today to clinch the crown.
Dijon Thompson netted 19 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to propel Azovmash to the Superleague gold. Sergiy Lishchuk contributed 17 points and 8 rebounds in another display of dominance from Azovmash. Chris Owens could not rescue BC Donetsk with game-high 37 points and 13 rebounds. D ... »»
