Kyiv Sweep Series, Azovmash go ahead 2:1
 

BC Kyiv advanced into the 2008 Superleague Finals after sweeping the series against Politekhnika-Galychyna Lviv with a 67:89 win in game 3.

Lviv managed to stay close to the visitors for the first three quarters, trailing by just 6 points prior to the final interval. Kyiv, however, threw a heavy blow at their opponents, winning the quarter 22:6.

Volodymyr Gurtovyi had a game-high 19 points for Politekhnika-Galychyna.

Ryan Stack scored 16 for Kyiv; Artur Drozdov and Marcus Faison added 15 apiece.

TIM-SKUF Wins Women's Title

TIM-SKUF Kyiv won the Ukrainian Higher League women’s Title after defeating last year’s champions Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in 71:77 in game 5 of the Finals.

Kyiv’s Olena Savina played all 40 minutes accomplishing a double-double – 24 points and 10 boards. She was named the Finals’ MVP at the Awards Ceremony. Inna Kochubei added 17 points and 7 rebounds for the visitors.

Kyiv, Azovmash Prevail
 

BC Kyiv took another step towards the 2008 Superleague Finals, having defeated Politekhnika-Galychyna Lviv 104:72 in game 2 of the Semifinal Series.

Khimik, Kyiv lead 1:0 in their series
 

BC Khimik Yuzhniy started the 2008 Superleague Semifinals with a 81:84 upset of the defending champions Azovmash Mariupol, taking a 1:0 lead in the series.

BC Kyiv and Azovmash Mariupol advanced into the Superleague semifinals after sweeping their series in 3 games. Kyiv defeated Dnipro 92:72 and Azovmash bested Cherkaski Mavpy 92:83.

Politekhnika-Galychyna managed to avoid game 5, after winning a thriller last night in Sumy. Volodymyr Gurtovyi scored a game-winner with 5 seconds to go in the 4th quarter to set the final score 94:93.

Rostyslav Kryvych kept his Sumykhimprom in the Ukrainian Superleague playoff race, having scored 38 points in a 117:93 win over Politekhnika-Galychyna.
